About ISECPM

Complex projects succeed when we integrate.

Today's complex projects bring together engineering, project management, technology, procurement, operations, organizations and people.

Each may bring exceptional expertise to the table — but project success depends on how effectively they work together.

ISECPM was created to strengthen that connection.

The Integrated Systems Engineering & Complex Project Management Institute is a Canadian non-profit organization bringing together the people, disciplines and organizations involved in planning, developing and delivering complex projects.

We provide a neutral forum where industry, defence and government, academia, practitioners and emerging professionals can connect across traditional boundaries, share knowledge, explore common challenges and build stronger Canadian capability.

Why ISECPM?

The challenge is often found between the disciplines.

Systems engineering and project management have each developed sophisticated practices, standards and professional communities.

But complex projects don't happen within the boundaries of a single discipline.

Technical decisions affect cost and schedule. Project decisions affect technical outcomes. Requirements, risk, procurement, technology, people and governance are interconnected.

When those perspectives operate in isolation, gaps emerge.

ISECPM focuses on the space between them.

We bring technical and project communities together to encourage integrated thinking, create a common language and explore practical approaches to the challenges that affect complex-project delivery.

Vision & Mission

Vision

Hover to read

To be the national authority on integrated product and project success.

Our vision is intentionally ambitious: to contribute to a stronger Canadian ecosystem for the successful delivery of increasingly complex projects.

Mission

Hover to read

To bridge the gap between technical and project management disciplines.

We create opportunities for people with different expertise and perspectives to work together — sharing knowledge, challenging assumptions, identifying common problems and developing better approaches to integration and delivery.

Building Canadian Capability

The goal is lasting Canadian capability.

By connecting expertise across sectors and disciplines, ISECPM aims to strengthen Canada's capacity to undertake increasingly complex defence, infrastructure, technology and other major programs.

This includes opportunities for collaborative research, skills development, knowledge transfer, professional development and industry-academic collaboration.

For organizations participating in Canada's defence industrial ecosystem, these activities may also provide opportunities to explore initiatives aligned with Canada's Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) and Value Proposition (VP) objectives.
