ISECPM Programs
Where Connection Becomes Action.
ISECPM programs bring people, disciplines and organizations together to explore shared challenges, exchange knowledge and develop practical approaches to complex-project delivery.
Our programs create opportunities to move beyond individual disciplines and organizations — connecting expertise, experience and ideas around the challenges that affect complex projects.
What We Do
How We Put Integration Into Practice
ISECPM activities are organized around four interconnected program areas.
Leadership Forums & Situation Rooms
Bring the right people around the table.
Focused forums bring leaders, practitioners and subject-matter experts together across disciplines and sectors to explore real challenges affecting complex projects and programs. These discussions create space to examine issues from multiple perspectives, share experience and identify areas where further collaboration or action may be valuable.

Research & Collaboration
Turn shared challenges into opportunities to collaborate.
ISECPM connects industry, academia, government and practitioners around research questions and capability challenges that benefit from cross-disciplinary thinking. The goal is to help identify priorities, build collaborative relationships and support applied research relevant to complex-project delivery and Canadian capability.
Examples of activities
Knowledge & Standards
Turn experience into shared knowledge.
Complex projects generate valuable lessons, but that knowledge often remains within individual organizations, sectors or disciplines. ISECPM provides a place to capture, examine and share knowledge across the systems engineering and complex project-management communities. By bringing perspectives together, we can help turn individual experience into knowledge that benefits the broader community.
Examples of activities
Professional Development
Build integrated capability for today and tomorrow.
ISECPM supports the development of professionals who can work effectively across technical and project environments. Programs can connect experienced practitioners with emerging professionals while creating opportunities for knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary learning and skills development.

How It Works
From Challenge to Capability
ISECPM programs are designed to build on one another. A discussion can identify a challenge. A challenge can become a research question. Research and experience can become shared knowledge. Shared knowledge can inform standards, professional development and future practice.
Listen
Identify challenges and emerging issues from across the ISECPM community.
Connect
Bring together the people, disciplines and perspectives needed to understand them.
Explore
Use roundtables, Situation Rooms, research and working groups to examine the issue.
Develop
Identify potential research, knowledge, standards, learning or collaborative responses.

Programs Built Around Participation
ISECPM programs are intended to draw on the knowledge and experience of the community. Members and participants may contribute as subject-matter experts, discussion participants, researchers, mentors, working-group members or collaborators depending on the initiative.

Have a Challenge We Should Be Exploring?
Some of the most valuable ISECPM programs will begin with a question.
- —What integration challenges are affecting your projects?
- —Where are disciplines struggling to work together?
- —What knowledge is missing?
- —What emerging issue deserves greater attention?
ISECPM invites members and participating organizations to help identify issues that could benefit from cross-disciplinary discussion, research or collaboration.
Help shape the ISECPM agenda by proposing a challenge, issue or topic for future discussion, research or collaboration.
Building Canadian Capability
Building Canadian Capability
ISECPM programs are designed to connect knowledge, experience and capability across sectors and disciplines. Through collaboration, research, knowledge sharing and professional development, we aim to contribute to stronger Canadian capability for the planning and delivery of increasingly complex projects.
For organizations participating in Canada's defence industrial ecosystem, certain collaborative research, skills-development and capability-building initiatives may also provide opportunities to explore alignment with Canada's Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) and Value Proposition (VP) objectives.
The goal is not simply more conversation.
The goal is to turn connection into capability.
Participation in ISECPM programs does not guarantee ITB credits, Value Proposition credits, procurement opportunities, government recognition, funding or contract opportunities.
From Shared Challenges to Shared Progress.
Complex projects require perspectives that cross traditional boundaries. ISECPM creates the forums, connections and collaborative opportunities to bring those perspectives together.
